Account Information

Username and email address — used to create and manage your account

Profile picture — optional, uploaded at your discretion

First and last name — optional, used for social features

Golf Data

Scores and rounds — every hole score and round you log

Course information — courses you play and search for

Statistics — scoring averages, trends, and history

Health and Fitness Data (Apple Watch)

Steps walked — counted during active golf rounds

Distance — distance covered on the course

Calories burned — estimated during workout sessions

Workout duration — active time tracked per round

HealthKit data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose other than displaying your fitness stats within the app.

Location Data

GPS coordinates — used to find nearby golf courses and fetch accurate weather data for your location

Location is only accessed while you are actively using the app

You can disable location access at any time in iOS Settings

Social Data

Friend connections — users you connect with inside the app

League participation — leagues you join or create

Shared scores — rounds you choose to share with friends

Automatically Collected Data

Device type and OS version — for compatibility and debugging

App version — to deliver relevant updates

Crash reports — anonymous crash data to improve stability

Usage patterns — features used and session duration (anonymous)

Core functionality — tracking scores, managing rounds, calculating statistics

Apple Watch sync — keeping your iPhone and Watch scorecard in sync

Weather — displaying real-time conditions for courses you are playing

Social features — connecting with friends, leagues, and leaderboards

App improvement — using anonymous analytics to fix bugs and improve features

Push notifications — round reminders and friend activity (you control this)

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. Ever.

We share data only in these limited circumstances:

With your consent — when you explicitly share a score or connect with a friend

Service providers — Firebase/Google for backend infrastructure, authentication, and storage (governed by Google's privacy policy)

Apple WeatherKit — location coordinates are sent to Apple's weather service to retrieve conditions; governed by Apple's privacy policy

Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect our rights

Anonymous aggregates — non-identifiable usage statistics may be used to improve the app

Firebase (Google)

Purpose: Authentication, database, file storage, crash reporting, analytics

Data stored: Account info, scores, profile data

Policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Apple HealthKit

Purpose: Reading and writing workout data, steps, and calories during golf rounds

Control: Fully managed through the iOS Health app — you grant or revoke access at any time

Restriction: HealthKit data is never used for advertising or shared outside of Apple's ecosystem without your explicit consent

Apple WeatherKit

Purpose: Real-time weather for golf courses

Data sent: Your location coordinates only

Policy: Governed by Apple's privacy policy

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256 via Firebase)

Authentication is handled by Firebase Auth with support for Face ID

We use App Check to prevent unauthorized API access

We review our security practices regularly

You have the right to:

Access — request a copy of your personal data

Correction — update or correct your information in app settings

Deletion — delete your account and all associated data from within the app

Portability — export your scoring history

Opt-out — disable location, notifications, or HealthKit access at any time via iOS Settings

Active accounts: Data is retained while your account is active

Deleted accounts: All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion

Crash/analytics data: Anonymous data may be retained longer for product improvement

Aldo Golf is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
